Shelter dogs are always available for an adoption fee of $80.00 if NOT spayed or neutered. $116.00 if already spayed or neutered via the shelter. All dogs that are adopted get a 5 way, Bordetella, wormer, Flea preventive and heart worm tested. If they are not fixed we the "adopting parents" a coupon to help with the cost of the spay or neuter.

 

The adoption fee includes a bag containing:

  • Food
  • Treats
  • Toys
  • Leash
  • Collar

Also included in the adoption fee are dog tags/license and records for shots given while at the shelter.

The Perry County Dog Shelter typically averages 20 - 30 adoptable dogs on hand at any given time.

In 2020 155 dogs were placed into the dog rescue system. 289 dogs were adopted out of the Shelter.

 

If your dog ends up in the shelter it costs $40 to release the dog from the shelter. If the dog does NOT have a valid dog tag the redemption fee is $72 and includes a new tag. In addition, there is  a $10/day boarding fee. ALL dogs brought to the shelter are given the bordetella and 5-Way vaccines. They are also wormed. If you can prove your dog has had the bordetella vaccine, the $15 vaccine fee will be waived.
