Seven RSVP volunteers distributed 244 locking medicine boxes donated by Perry Behavioral Health Choices and Elks Lodge 509.
Seniors are often targeted for theft of their medications. We are hearing that seniors are forced to ration their medications due to the high cost of drugs. Many report taking one pill when they are prescribed two, in order to make supplies last. Unfortunately, some lose their entire medication supply to thefts by family members, home health aides, neighbors, etc. These locking boxes will help ensure their medication supplies will be better protected.
