Every now and then, we are reminded we are not in charge. The winds and storm that blew through New Lexington exactly one week ago were rather severe on the ole courthouse hill. It’s extremely upsetting, but nearly 100 new clay roof tiles were lifted and broke to bits by the winds. It has been inspected thoroughly and confirmed they were installed properly, and the fasteners did not fail. Ludowici guarantees this tile, as installed to withstand 100mph winds. The weather service says there was no rotation winds. Evidence around the courthouse suggests otherwise. Insurance coverages will cover it, and CK will get them replaced ASAP. If it had to happen, I’m glad it happened while they are all here in place and working. It should not delay the completion date on the total project. No water has gotten through our moisture barriers. It only occurred on one east facing slope of the SW gable. No other area was touched. Riddle me this one batman.
