It was determined that ceiling jack arches in the second-floor corridor needed some additional support to be sure the structure would be sound. The challenge in this corridor was to avoid damaging or impacting the beautiful crown molding. We have to install 2 five-inch angle irons bolted back-to-back in the peak of the arch. This iron support is seated in the supporting walls above the crown molding. This is another one of those structural fixes that no one could see or predict prior to starting this project.
