It’s a rainy day, so I figured I would get back to the roof. 2024 was a terrible drought year, but it made a good year to replace a courthouse roof. Pics are of the bell tower roof. First pics are the original slate roof. The steel purlins of the tower roof suffered the effects of the elements much more than the main roof. All the original purlins had to be replaced. The main structure is made of 4-inch angle. That steel was still good but had to be buffed clean and coated with the grey primer that you see, then sealed. The original purlins were rusted so thin they could be pulled off by hand. I am amazed the tower slate was not ripped off in a windstorm.
