“Lintel” or “Lintol” is a type of beam (a horizontal structural element) that spans openings such as doors and windows. In this massive courthouse repair and restoration project, there are a lot of doorways. New doorways opened, old doorways closed, and repairs where doorways are maintained. Every modified opening needs a new masonry lintel. Thankfully, most masonry work throughout the courthouse is completed. When the temperature drops below 40 degrees, that work has to stop unless it’s heated.
