If you drive through New Lexington, take a moment to pause a look at the courthouse. Window replacement is in full swing as we work from top to bottom. It’s a bit chilly out, so as an old window is removed, the new ones are in place that day. This work should move quickly, as windows are custom-made and delivered. A bit of masonry work will make the final step in the seal. On the sides of the courthouse where we have removed the scaffolding, a man lift will be used for the exterior finish work. The new windows are double pane in wood. The second-generation windows we are removing were also in wood frames. However, at some point, in an attempt to prolong their life, they were clad in aluminum. The wood frames we are removing are just beyond repair.
