The new hat channel installed in place of the old, rusted purlins, and some extra structural steel added to the peak of the bell tower roof supports, along with several more bolts holding the entire structure in place. The 3/4″ fire-resistant plywood and vapor barrier is in place before the Ludowici clay roof tile is laid. Hopefully this roof lasts another 100 years.
