Perry County Courthouse | I-Beams

Just a quick cross section of those “I” beams that support the brick jack arches throughout the courthouse. These are beams that were cut for the space for the new elevator tower. The beams are stamped identifying them as Carnegie Steel, most likely brought in by rail from Pittsburgh. I thought I had a pic of the stamp- I will get a new one and show you. Most are 12 inches. However, a random few are 6- and 8-inch beams. That has been another one of those “challenges” we have had to overcome.
