Judge Tina BoyerNew Lexington, Ohio – Judge Tina Boyer of the Perry County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, recently attended the Economic Institute for Judges, held in March 2025. The program was presented by the Law and Economics Center of George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School.

The Economic Institute for Judges is part of a long-standing educational initiative by the Law and Economics Center, which has provided advanced training in economics, finance, accounting, statistics, and scientific methodology to members of the judiciary for nearly 50 years. The program aims to enhance judicial understanding of economic principles as they apply to complex legal issues.

Participation in the Institute required the completion of extensive reading assignments in advance, followed by a week of intensive classroom instruction and discussion. Judges engaged in in-depth analysis of legal cases through the lens of economics, finance, and statistical reasoning, deepening their understanding of how these disciplines intersect with the law.

Judge Boyer’s participation in this rigorous academic program underscores her continued commitment to professional development and excellence on the bench. The knowledge and skills gained from the Institute will assist her in effectively addressing the complex matters that come before the Perry County Court of Common Pleas.
Importantly, the Law and Economics Center provides this training at no cost to participating judges or their counties, offering it as a public service to strengthen the judicial system nationwide.
