Perry County Courthouse | Newel Posts

Another “sneak peek” Friday for everyone following. One of the first FB posts I made was our effort to locate the newel post that was part of the historic staircase that was removed for the installation of the first elevator. Well, those parts were lost to history, so we had to make new replicas. The foundry in Virginia has done some amazing work using the remaining newel post as a form for the new cast. All the small pieces are decorative items that are bolted on the post. Getting boxed and ready for shipment to New Lexington. Very exciting times in the restoration of our courthouse!
