mock crash demonstration at the New Lexington Fairgrounds

A powerful and eye-opening mock crash demonstration took place today at the New Lexington Fairgrounds, giving juniors and seniors from Crooksville High School and Sheridan High School a firsthand look at the real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving.

Organized by the Perry County EMA, the event featured local township firefighters and rescue personnel, and Perry County Sheriff’s Office who staged a realistic crash scene, complete with emergency response efforts. Timed just ahead of prom season, the demonstration aimed to remind students of the importance of making safe, responsible decisions behind the wheel.

Officials hope the impactful presentation will leave a lasting impression and help prevent tragedies during one of the most celebrated times of the school year.
