Yet another exterior repair component I want to share about our Courthouse: the cap stones on the gable ends (NW & SW). These stones were also removed and placed on the ground. The masonry brick under them and the structural attachment to the roof was completely rebuilt. All the stones were then lifted back into place. Stainless steel pins were set to help hold them, along with the mortar and the lead strip to provide better joint protection from the challenges of harsh weather.
