
Well, we have some additional and unplanned work the engineers have deemed necessary. I’ve shown you the Jack Arch construction. Most of these arches were in great shape, while some of them were removed. To ensure everything stays in place for another century, we are “parge” coating the bottom side of all remaining Jack arches. This is a concrete skim coat that will seal and help hold all brick in place. It’s one more procedure to keep any loose brick from possibly falling. We certainly don’t need any bricks dropping through our new ceilings. These arches will not be exposed- this work will not be visible when we re-open, but you will know it’s there.
