Ok- the old elevator and concrete tower were broken into little pieces and carried out of the building. The elevator piston was cut into manageable lengths and carried out. We had to cap the elevator pit similar to capping a well. The square pit area was sealed and filled with concrete, which is once again the base for the restoration of the first flight of the historic stairs. Five pictures to highlight some monumental work.
