Staying on the doorway topic another day. Cutting new doorways is not taken lightly. Not only do we need to cut through 18-inch-thick walls, but new lintels need to be installed to provide support for the massive wall above. Pic two is an original doorway closed with masonry. This will be plastered over. Both of these locations are on the ground floor.
