Box gutter installation on Southeast tower has begun as roofers also continue the removal of the gutters on the East side of courthouse. Installation of new gutters is expected to continue into next week, along with the laying of new roofing on the clock tower. The Masons have finished tuckpointing and began stone consolidation on chimneys. Their work on the chimneys is expected to finish next week, with restoration of the gables to follow. The demo crew has completed the removal of the existing elevator shaft and cleaned throughout the courthouse. The concrete crew has also removed portions of concrete slab on ground floor to prep for installation of new footers for the foundation.

Roofers have started install box gutters on Northeast tower, while the masons continued tuckpointing around the Southeast and West chimneys. The demo crew has completed removing the first floor plaster ceilings and continued work on the elevator shaft. Plumbers have completed the underground plumbing on the ground floor. A structural engineer and May’s Consulting were onsite to review the clocktower structural member conditions throughout the week.

Scaffolding was installed in the main staircase to allow for the demolition of the elevator shaft and 2nd floor plaster ceiling. Scaffolding erectors completed work on all elevations of the courthouse. Roofers began roof sheathing on clock tower and continued box gutter work on the East towers. Mortar and stone patching around the building and masonry work on the chimneys continues, along with the removal of the existing elevator and plaster ceilings throughout the courthouse. Plumbers began installation of sanitary lines within the ground floor tunnel, with plans to continue ground floor plumbing next week.

CK laborers demoed the existing sloped roof over the second-floor skylight and existing shelving in the attic. CK iron workers completed installation of support steel on the north elevation of the attic with the remainder of the attic steel to be delivered onsite on 2/16. A masonry knee wall was completed in attic, and masons have begun removing existing joints on stone belt on east elevation. These joints are to be repointed when the weather improves.
