PERRY COUNTY DISTRICT LIBRARY

Perry County District Library is a public library system made up of a main library located in New Lexington, five branch libraries (Corning, Crooksville, Junction City, Somerset, and Thornville), and a bookmobile with stops in many small communities, apartment complexes, preschools, senior living facilities, and more.

In additional to providing traditional library materials, programs and services, the library offers hotspot lending, a Beyond the Books collection (knitting kits, STEAM to Go kits, sensory and memory kits, Tonie Boxes, etc.), public meeting spaces, free scanning, after-school & summer food programs for children, Rudy’s Reader Club, an adaptive toy lending program, experience passes to The Works, the AHA Museum, and Dawes Arboretum, and so much more.

Are library cards free and how old does my child have to be to get a card?
Yes, library cards are free and available for all ages. For those under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the application with the child accompanying them to the library to get their card.

How do I register for library programs like story time, family nights, and book clubs?
Registering for library programs can be done by visiting the library’s online calendar of events on the library website (www.pcdl.org) or by visiting/calling the library location nearest you and asking a staff member to complete the registration for you.

Can I use the library’s WiFi even when the library is closed?
Yes, free WiFi is available inside and outside all library locations, even the bookmobile! WiFi is available to the public from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
